Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of DSVS, and without them, we could not do the life-changing work that we do. A team of volunteer advocates answer helpline calls on evenings and weekends, and many more volunteers help with events, special projects and program support. And our Power Up, Speak Out! mentoring program is powered by passionate volunteers as well.

We live in a challenging world so we need more kind-hearted and helpful people. I guess it’s simple–everybody can use a hand from time to time and I’m happy to provide one.

I love mentoring because it’s such a simple way to offer support to a smart, hilarious, and constantly surprising youth. We hang out during lunch and he shows me all the things he excels at like magic and speed Rubik’s cube solving. We play games and chat. He’s a great little friend!
