A Place to Call Home

Because everyone deserves healthy relationships. And a permanent, safe place to turn.

DSVS provides free, confidential support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Carbon and Stillwater Counties, every hour of every day.

We are raising $600,000 to buy the building we currently rent, so this space is never in question again and rent money goes straight to survivor services instead.

Why We’re Buying Our Building

Right now, DSVS rents the space we operate from. Every month, part of our budget goes to a landlord instead of to advocacy, crisis response, and the free, confidential services survivors count on. Owning our building changes that, for good:

  • No more rent — that money goes directly toward survivor services instead
  • No risk of a lease ending, a rent increase, or a sale forcing us to move
  • A stable, known location survivors and community partners can count on for the long term

What Ownership Makes Possible

  • Rent dollars redirected to direct services: advocacy, the 24/7 Helpline, safety planning
  • Long-term program planning, instead of planning around a lease
  • A consistent, known location so survivors and partners always know where to find us

We’re Raising $600,000

Every dollar goes toward one thing: buying our building outright. No more rent — which means the money we’ve spent every month on a landlord goes straight to survivor services instead, for good.

FAQs

Why is DSVS buying the building now?

Renting means our budget and location are never fully secure. Buying ends that uncertainty and frees rent money for survivor services.

What if the campaign doesn't reach $600,000?

DSVS will continue to raise funds until we have met our goal and can purchase the building. All funds raised will specifically be set aside for this purchase.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. DSVS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Where does my donation go if I give to DSVS's general fund instead of the campaign?

General donations continue to support day-to-day services. Gifts marked for the capital campaign go specifically toward the building purchase.
